More Orientation Meetings Scheduled for Dislocated Rainbow Foods Workers

Additional sessions will be held on September 11 at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. The first meetings for dislocated Rainbow Foods employees (held on Thursday, August 21) had low attendance due to short notice. Former Rainbow employees on The Planning and Selection Committee wanted to get the process going as soon as possible and while some folks received the notices late, many members were able to get started in planning for their new careers. With that in mind, we have scheduled another day of orientation meetings that will give much more advanced notice to Rainbow Foods dislocated workers. Those meetings will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 10 am and 1 pm at UFCW Local 1189’s office located at 266 Hardman Ave N., So St Paul, 55075.  Notices will be sent to the members that were not hired by the new owners.  If you or someone you know did not receive a notice, but you believe should have, please feel free to attend.  If you are a former Rainbow employee and have not found work, plan on attending one of the two meetings -they are informative. Attendees of the first two meetings found them to be very helpful whether they planned on staying in the retail grocery industry or they are looking toward a new career.

Former Rainbow employees may also contact the vendor directly: Pam Kling at The Resource Employment Action Center (REAC) @ 612.752.8454 to get the process started. REAC will also be sending another mailing to those who did not attend one of the meetings.

If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 651.451.6240.
