Wage Theft Roundtable
WHAT: Wage Theft Crisis in MN Roundtable with workers, community members & Lt. Gov. Tina Smith
WHERE: University of MN, Honeywell Lecture Hall (L-110), Carlson School of Management, 321 19th Avenue South, Minneapolis
WHEN: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26
WHY: Every year $50 billion is stolen from US workers in unpaid wages, more than losses from burglaries and car theft combined. Wage theft brings many workers’ pay below minimum wage and makes it harder for law-abiding businesses to compete. From construction to service industries to agriculture, Minnesotans are combatting this problem in new and creative ways. Join the conversation with Lt. Gov. Tina Smith and a panel of workers and community leaders at the forefront of this fight.
