Arbitrator Rules in Favor of UFCW 1189 in COVID-19 Testing Pay
UFCW Local 1189 prevailed in the arbitration against Monarch Healthare Management regarding COVID-19 testing. The arbitrator ruled that employees should be paid for one (1) hour or longer if it took longer to come in on their off time for testing. The award is retroactive to September 14, 2020. The Union will be working with the Employer and the facilities to ensure employees who were not paid per the arbitrator’s award get paid.
