New Co-Sponsor of Hemp Legislation

U.S. Rep. Richard Nolan becomes the 69th cosponsor for the Industrial Hemp Farming Act.  Minnesota became an industrial hemp state in accordance with Sec. 7606 of the Farm Bill in 2015 by way of the state's Omnibus. In mid-2015, Representatives Hamilton, Poppe and C. Johnson introduced HF 14 to authorize the state's Industrial Hemp Development Act, which would establish a farm opportunity loan fund and make appropriations to support the program. The passage of H.R. 525, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act, is critical to support state efforts.
