St. Paul Area Retailers Reach Tentative Agreement With Union

Members working in St. Paul area Grocery stores (Cub, Jerry's, County Market, Lunds&Byerlys, Kowalski's, Festival, Knowlan's Meat dept.), reached a tentative agreement with their employers late this evening, April 12, 2019. The settlement offers increases to all wage scales (at the top and over scale), additional employer contributions to the healthcare plan, merging of a lower tier FT classification into a higher one for most employers (Cub, Jerry's, Lunds&Byerlys, Kowalski's), employer-paid life insurance and AD&D benefits for all employees who do not currently have this benefit, and holiday pay for new employees (prime time PT, and utility/carryout/clean team) in their first year (after 90 days) when working the holiday.Increased contributions (by employers) to healthcare will be effective April in each year of the three-year agreement. *Wages for full time employees will increase in October of each year .50, .55, .60/hr (1.65 total); part time employees will receive their increases in May this year and April each year thereafter .20, .30, .40/hour (.90 total), increasing top part time rates to $16.40 in 2021. Voting is scheduled for Tuesday April 30. Members will be able to vote all day at the union hall (7:30am -7pm) in addition to voting times scheduled in each store.
