On December 17, 2020, UFCW 1189 LPN and Service and Maintenance members from Estates at Lynnhurst ratified a new 2-year agreement!  LPN members will receive a $1/hour increase the first year with a 3% increase the second year. CNAs will receive a $.75/hour increase the first year and a 3% increase the second year. Cooks/Aides will receive a 4% increase the first year with a 3% increase the second year, with all member increases retroactive to October, 1, 2020.

Congratulations the the UFCW 1189 members at Lake City Nursing Home, who on December 11, 2020, voted to ratify a new 3-year collective bargaining agreement!  The Union and Employer met multiple times to come to a tentative agreement that all parties believed was the best offer they could negotiate.  Subsequently, the membership agreed by an overwhelming majority to ratify that tentative agreement.  On 1/1/2021 all UFCW 1189 members will receive a 3% wage increase as well as an additional 1% wage increase effective 7/1/2021.  The parties will meet in 2022 and 2023 solely for the purposes of negotiating future wages.  Thank you to the Lake City bargaining committee of Kim Yarolimek, Diane Berktold, and Bonita Winter for all their work on getting to this agreement!

Congratulations to the UFCW 1189 members at Prescott Nursing and Rehab! On December 11, 2020 members voted in an overwhelming majority to ratify a new wage agreement.  Members will receive a 5% increase for Nurse Aides, Dietary, and Housekeeping retroactive to 10/31/2020.  All licensed staff will be receiving a 2% increase, also retroactive to 10/31/2020.  Special thanks to our Union Steward Kim Nelson for participating in these negotiations as well as conducting the vote!

Congratulations to our UFCW 1189 members at Valley View Healthcare & Rehab and Heritage Court on ratifying a new 3-year agreement.  The contract passed by an overwhelming majority with over 55% participation!  A special thanks goes out to our negotiating committee members Pam Walhovd, Ashley Frick, Michelle Loken, and Cheryl Sanden for all their hard work.

UFCW 1189 and its negotiating committee reached a tentative agreement with Valley View Healthcare and Rehab and Heritage Court on November 9, 2020.  The parties agreed to a 3% wage increase on January 1, 2021 with an additional wage opener in six months on June 30, 2021 to negotiate further wage improvements.  In addition, the committee was able to secure a larger PTO max accrual, one additional day of funeral Leave, a 3% match to the Employer's pension plan, and important COVID language, including incentives.  The parties worked in unison to put the best offer forward and we believe we did just that.  The tentative agreement comes with unanimous committee support and will be voted at the following dates and times:

 

Monday -November 30 2pm-5pm 

Tuesday - December 1  8:30am-10:30am

 

Voting will be held simultaneously with facility-wide testing in the employee breakroom.
