Tannery workers at S.B. Foot Tanning ratified a new agreement at a meeting held on March 28, 2019 at the American Legion in Red Wing. 60% of the workers voted in favor of the agreement that gave all members raises, made movement to end the two-tier wage system and continued the fully employer-paid health care at current benefit levels. Members voting against the employer's offer stated that the offer did not improve time of benefits (vacation or sick time) for members who have been with the company for years.

Your contract is the result of bargaining between the Union and the Employer beginning with the Union's initial proposal and followed by negotiations on items that affect your job. When a tentative agreement is reached (or when we receive the Employer's final offer) the Union will schedule a time for you to vote on the proposed changes to your contract. Union Tannery Workers at S.B. Foot Tanning in Red Wing have reached a tentative agreement with their employer. The contract proposal comes with a recommendation by 100% of the Union Negotiation committee to vote YES on the offer. The new agreement provides for employer paid health care, raises in each year of the Agreement and additional money in the second tier (lower) to bridge the gap between rates.
Union members working at the S.B. Foot Tannery in Red Wing meet at the Red Wing Labor Hall on February 26 to finalize proposals for changes and improvements to their collective bargaining agreement (Union Contract) which is in effect through April 1, 2019. The Union committee, lead by President Christensen, met with Company Representatives on March 1, 2019, at the National Guard Armory in Red Wing, and presented the Union's proposals.
UFCW members at S.B. Foot Tanning Company in Red Wing are scheduled to begin negotiating a new Agreement on March 1 of this year. The members at the plant (formerly Local 335) voted to merge with UFCW Local 1189, increasing the size of their local union many times over and increasing their bargaining power at the table. A Union meeting will be held on February 26 from 2:30 - 3:30 at the Red Wing Labor Hall.
