SB Foot members voted to ratify their contract weeks after authorizing a strike that resulted in the Employer returning to the table to negotiate an improved deal. Members received a $2.25 increase the first year, $1.25 the second year and $.50 the third year with those in the second pay scale tier to move into the higher pay first scale tier after their 8-year anniversary. Members also received an improved health care plan with an HSA option as well. UFCW 1189 members working for Healthcare Services Group at The Estates of Linden ratified a new agreement on September 14, 2021. Members will receive a 3% wage increase retroactive to April 1, 2021 and a 2.25% wage increase in the second year of the contract in addition to $1/hour preceptor pay. Thank you to Steward Kim Kuehn and all members who voted.
UFCW Local 1189 prevailed in the arbitration against Monarch Healthare Management regarding COVID-19 testing. The arbitrator ruled that employees should be paid for one (1) hour or longer if it took longer to come in on their off time for testing. The award is retroactive to September 14, 2020. The Union will be working with the Employer and the facilities to ensure employees who were not paid per the arbitrator’s award get paid. On April 22, 2021, UFCW 1189 members at Knowlan’s ratified a new contract agreement! Full-time and Department Head members will receive a 65 cent increase and Part-time/Youth scales will receive a 25 cent to 40 cent wage increase depending on scale, with all increases retroactive back to April 4, 2021. On March 19, 2021, through a collective bargaining collaboration between Local 1189 and Local 663, Hirshfield’s UFCW members ratified a new 3-year agreement! All members will receive $.50 wage increase the first year with $.40 wage increases the remaining two years with the possibility of a sales incentive of an additional $.20 per year contingent on sales growth.
