On August 26, 2014 we met with your employer and exchanged proposals. On September 16, 2014 your negotiating committee met with your employer for the second time to discuss the employer’s ten (10) pages of proposals and the Union’s proposals. As you are aware, some of the employer’s proposals have to do with the NEW TIME CLOCK SYSTEM. The committee was able to agree to some of the employer’s proposals and the employer did withdraw some as well.  There are still many proposals to work on as well as the economic proposals.

On September 1, 2014 the Iron Range Labor Assembly held its 11th annual Labor Day Picnic in Olcott Park in Virginia.  The estimated number of people that attended the event was 1200.  The Labor Assembly served hot dogs and polish sausage with potato salad, pork and beans, chips, and ice cream bars. We had different games for the children along with a raffle and split the pot for the adults.  All the democratic leaders attended this event, including Mark Dayton, Al Franken, Rebecca Otto, Lori Swanson, Representatives Jason Metsa and Carly Melin as well as Senator Dave Tomassoni.
