MN Nursing Home Workforce Standards Board Surveys and Forums

The Nursing Home Workforce Standards Board was created in law during the 2023 legislative session to conduct investigations into working conditions in the nursing home industry and adopt rules establishing minimum employment standards reasonably necessary and appropriate to protect the health and welfare of nursing home workers in Minnesota.
The Nursing Home Workforce Standards Board (NHWSB) is in the process of completing its standards review and is seeking feedback through a new online survey. The NHWSB is also taking testimony at three public forums about the current standards and whether they are adequate for the health and welfare of nursing home workers.
Stakeholders — including nursing home workers, employers, worker and employer organizations, and the public — are encouraged to provide input.
Feedback can be given via the survey or at one of the three NHWSB public forums in September 2026. The forums are:
Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, in Rochester;
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, in Brainerd; and
Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, in St. Paul, online and in person.
