Union Representative and Recording Secretary

Union History:  I have been a union member of OPEIU Local 12 since 1986 wherein I also filled the role of steward and negotiating committee member.  I was hired by UFCW Local 1189 in September 2011.  Prior to that, I worked for IAM District 143 for almost 25 years in an administrative capacity. 

Why do you do what you do?  

When I was hired in 1986 by the IAM, I had no knowledge nor experience with the labor movement.  Today, I wouldn’t dream of working anywhere else but for a labor union.  I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to work together with staff and representatives to achieve the same goals of representation for our members and justice for working families.
