Merger Between UFCW 1189 and UFCW 527
Wednesday, May 20, 2026 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., members will be able to cast their vote on the merger between UFCW 1189 and UFCW 527. UFCW 527 represents approximately 270 members in Red Wing, Minnesota who are employed at Riedell Shoes and Red Wing Shoes. Members may cast their ballots at either UFCW 1189 offices located at 266 Hardman Ave N, South St. Paul or 2002 London Rd, Ste 211; Duluth. The Executive Boards of both Local Unions have approved this merger and both Locals have received the approval of the UFCW International Union to bring this matter before the membership. A majority of “Yes” votes from both Local Unions is required to complete the merger. There will be no change in the Officers of UFCW 1189 and the combined Local will maintain the Local’s numeric (1189) and will function under the current UFCW 1189 Bylaws.
