Overtime Victory at Vireo Production Facility
Body
Vireo Production and Cultivation workers have been working mandatory overtime to try to meet the increased demand with adult use legalization. The mandated overtime has negatively affected workers’ families, and the company has also scheduled overtime on holiday weeks, limiting the amount of overtime paid. However, the contract states that the workweek must be 40 hours unless mutually agreed. Upon further examination of this language, the Union has determined that overtime needs to be voluntary. The Union is committed to working with the company to ensure that production demands are met, but not at the expense of our members’ well-being or the integrity of our collective bargaining agreement.
