UFCW 1189 Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway

Thanks to the strength of our membership, Local 1189 is providing free backpacks filled with school supplies for school-age children of active UFCW Local 1189 members. This program is one small way we can give back to the members and families who make our Union strong.

Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
300 backpacks to giveaway (between all locations)
Members may receive up to three (3) backpacks per household for school-age children
Members should be prepared to provide their name, employer, and the number of backpacks requested at pickup

South St. Paul Union Office: Thursday, August 13, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Duluth Union Office: Wednesday, August 12, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Long Prairie River of Life Church: Saturday, August 1, 2026 10:00 a.m.

Park Rapids American Legion: Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at member meetings 1:30 p.m.; 3:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
