Vireo/Green Goods First Bargaining Update

Body

Your Union committee met for the first time and exchanged initial proposals with Vireo on October 4. For the first rounds of bargaining, we are focusing on "non-economic" items, meaning things that don't cost the company any money or are administrative changes. The reason for this is because we don't want to trade things that don't cost money for things that do!

We came to several agreements, mostly on things that are very minor changes or keep the contract up-to-date with current practice- for example, keeping the language consistent with Minnesota's earned safe and sick time law.

The company has not yet agreed to allow retail workers to accept tips offered by customers. This is our most important non-economic ask. If you are a retail worker, please fill out our tip survey here.

We expect to finish the non-economic issues very quickly and move into economics, which is the more exciting part of the contract that includes wage increases and other important changes. Our next bargaining date is October 17.
