Vireo Negotiations Update 11-21
Your bargaining committee met with the employer for a long session on 11/21 to try to finalize the contract and reach an agreement. We feel that the employer has come a lot closer to where we need to be. However, we were not able to come to an agreement and we were far enough apart that we decided to meet again and extend the current contract until the next bargaining date on December 6.
Remember, your committee represents your interests at the table, but no final decision is made without a membership vote. This is your union, and you have a voice here. If you have questions about the bargaining process, please do not hesitate to contact a committee member or Claire.
We have tentative agreements on some contract improvements, which are "tentative" until you have a chance to vote yes or no on the final contract package. This includes anti-harassment language, clarification on earned safe and sick time, and clarification around successorship (if the company sells). The most important items are still open. We are happy that the employer's last proposal was much closer to what we need, and their proposal includes:
- Wage increases of 3% for top of scale and increases to the scales
- Increase CSR/Production/Custodian scale to start at $18 and go up from there
- Maintaining employer healthcare contributions
- Tips for retail workers (but no tip jars until after adult use)
- Addition of Juneteenth as a holiday
See the Employer's wage scale proposal here
We are still pushing for more, including more money if the company gets an adult use license and more leads, but we are at least much closer than after last session. We expect to have a proposal for everyone to vote on after our next session, and we will have opportunities for everyone to discuss the changes before we vote on them.
Your bargaining committee is Michael Seward, Lauren Hamilton, Will Casey, Heide See, Brad Nelson, Alex Malik, Cassy Taylor, Tattiana Sannes, Brenna Werlinger, and Dylan Gnoinski.
